Back to the Fold

The previous week has been a perilous one. As the lack of posts here suggest, there was very little time for me to spend on personal matters, let alone the WH40k hobby. The last few days leading to the weekend have been extra tiresome, where we took part in an industry exhibition for the new company I switched to. Nevertheless, I did have a little time to spare for the few kits I’m working on. Find out more after the jump.  (more…)

Workshop Update, Possessed Marine and Nurglings

This past weekend has been a fruitful one in terms of getting involved with the multitude of models I have, including the ongoing Heldrake and Possessed Marine kits. I started a new kit from my latest purchases and did some testing on the winged Possessed Marine. Find out more after the jump. (more…)

WIP : Heldrake Project and Possessed Update

It hasn’t been too exciting the few days in terms of hobby developments but I did manage to get a few things in order. As you can see the Heldrake parts are largely primed with Chaos Black spray. I’ll still have to go over them with a brush to make sure everything is covered fine. Find out what else I’ve been up to after the jump.

WIP: Possessed CSM #3

I see these little fellas have been neglected for some time now with the hype of getting the Heldrake ready for the competition. So I decided to give them the proper attention they really deserve, even though the casts are not the best, the idea of blending demon with armor and space marine skin is quite compelling to paint. Take a closer gander at the models and find out some thoughts after the jump. (more…)

WIP: Heldrake #5

This post was supposed to air yesterday but due to unforeseen consequences I had to push it to today. I have cut the last pieces of the kit from the sprues, gave them a cleaning session and prepared them for priming. I also did some rearranging with my paints. Find out more about what I’ve been up to after the jump.  (more…)

Competition Notice

Here’s a quick post about the model competition to take place in May 24-25th. The event poster has been published on the club’s website. While the event is mainly for realistic representations of real land, sea and air vehicles, the sci-fi section should have some presentations of interesting models this year. I for one am looking forward to presenting my Heldrake there and would encourage residents to take part in it even if just to see fantastic looking models by accomplished hobbyists!

Tomorrow I will have some new updates on the Heldrake and hopefully on the unfinished possessed models, so stay tuned!

WIP: Heldrake #4

Before the painting sessions begin, I decided to give the above pieces a go at assembly, even though there are some parts that will be a little obscured. I am still able to push in a brush into the recesses without hitting anything else, so this should work. Find out more shots after the jump.  (more…)
