A rather short post today to share the latest development at the Workshop. Two weeks ago early Saturday I have received the ultimate miniature which will be the focus of attention from here on. At first sight it’s a remarkable product with no mould lines so far and an excellent casting quality. Say hello to Tolga!
Tired but proud!
All kidding aside this is pretty much the game-changer for me as I’ve been expecting him for quite some time now. Immediately he’s become the center of attention in the family and everyone is excited to see my first-born son. Needless to say he’ll be well geared towards miniatures and other manly things from the earliest possible age – we even let him listen to Star Wars scores while he was still growing in mom.
“What is this heresy?”
First fighting pose.
Knows how to take cover.
Like dad like son!
Already having fun with Gramps.
Obviously the first few months will be eating up a lot of my time so expect to see less updates in this corner. I’ll be working on my Twitter account and Facebook page in favor of the blog but may still be able to post the odd review or showcase mini (ha-ha I wish!). The Facebook page is still under construction (due to laziness) but Twitter is up and running so feel free to add me to your follow list @roemersworkshop.
The best miniature I got!
Until next time, stay safe and keep on rocking the minis!
Another long silence has passed at the Workshop since the last update. Between a long religious holiday (a saving grace from work, even for a heathen like me), my birthday and a business trip with a somewhat unexpected outcome I have managed to make time for the miniatures at hand and added more to the pile of unfinished work! Hop in to see what I have to share for the past few weeks and a teaser for what is to come (mobile users, slightly heavy with images!).
It’s been a while since my last WIP post due to overseas travel and a helluva last week with work and various catch-up activities. I did find some time to spend on more models and little time to dedicate solely to painting so let’s get to the progress thus far.
And what do you know, we’ve reached the 100th post in the Workshop! Time really does fly when you’re having fun. You’re in for quite a treat today. After quite a few weeks of inactivity I decided to get back to the hobby front in full force and start completing some projects at hand. And as promised, the next showcase following the Dreadknight is the Necron Lychguard, intended as a birthday gift to my fellow hobbyist Xasf. Took my sweet time on the models but in the end I’m content with the results. I also have some further news regarding the position I’ll take on the blog as well as some nice last WIP and showcase pics of the Lychguard, but for that you’ll have to make the jump!
See what I did there? Yeah. Anyways, the results for my first poll attempt are out and the public has decided. Priority posting goes to the Space Hulk Genestealers and the Random Encounter! dwarf miniature after the showcase of the Lychguard which I hope to have published sometime next week, if not on Monday as scheduled. It seems my business schedule has finally started to clear a bit and I can normal working hours again – so I want to make the best use of what little time I may have.
Here’s the result page. For a time I thought the Maulerfiend would prevail following the Tyranids but fans of Random Encounter emerged quickly. Overall the poll got 32 hits which is not too shabby for the first attempt. Hoping for a better population pool to assess next time!
I’m planning to have the Genestealer posts consolidated into batch sessions as there are 22 of them plus their Broodlord and have the Random Encounter! mini as a more focused series where I practice some techniques I feared using. Exciting times I reckon, so stick around for a nice serving of painting.
Greetings! After a quick flight to Malaysia for business and a week filled with work I got myself to having some quality time both in the hobby department and in the company of friends. I also received the large package I ordered from Oversoul related to their recent business changes to add to my mountain of kits… what a backlog this will create! Hop in to see what I’ve been up to in my absence after the jump.
Another short update today. Due to a business trip to Malaysia I’ll have limited updates this week… so stay tuned for the posts rest of the week and the next! Lots of boxes and some WIP developments abound.
I’ll leave you with this beautiful stock vista of Penang!
